What We Are About

We are simply Christians, without being members of any denomination. It is not our desire nor our understanding of God’s will for the church, that we start some new denomination.

This understanding comes from the teachings of Jesus and His apostles. We can read that Jesus prayed to His Father that all believers in Him would be one as the Father is in Jesus (see John 17:20,21). We also read that Paul taught the same thing in every church (I Cor 4:17). He further stated that “there is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all” (Eph 4:4-6).

These passages convince us that we can be just like the church Jesus said He would build in the first century (Mt 16:18).

We are simply Christians without being members of any denomination, and you can be too!

Who We Are

The church here at Park Road earnestly and sincerely seeks to be the church that Jesus said He would build (Mt. 16:18). To achieve that purpose, we rely only on the Bible as our guide and creed, believing it to be complete before God (II Tim 3:16,17).

As you will notice, our organization and worship reflect this purpose. We have elders and deacons (Philippians 1:1) here at Park Road, and being self-governing, we have no ties to any national or area organizations. Our worship is simple, following the pattern of the early church that is laid out for us in the New Testament.

In worship we sing (Eph 5:19), have prayer (I Thes 5:17), take communion (I Cor 11:23-26), give of our means (I Cor 16:1), and hear preaching from God’s Word (II Tim 4:1-4).
